10th Repple Depple chronicles the history of the 10th Replacement Depot and the American servicemen and women who were based at Whittington Barracks, Lichfield from 1942 until 1945. It describes the day to day running of the U.S. Army base and looks at the relationships of the troops with the British people in the local villages and towns of the West Midlands.

The book reports in detail on the efforts of Colonel James A. Kilian, the Commanding Officer, to promote positive Anglo-American relationships in the area, and also why he was removed from office just a few months before the end of World War 2. The book includes eyewitness accounts and a large number of previously unpublished photos.
